The International Freight & Logistics Network, Inc. (IFLN) Committee invited Mr Jimmy Pang, Principle Consultant of Alliance Management Consulting Ltd, as the keynote speaker for 12th IFLN conference held on 13-15 November 2006. In the conference, Mr. Pang shared the subject of risk management and opportunity in the Chinese supply chain to over 200 supply chain professionals’ delegates from numerous countries.

During the congress, Mr. Pang pointed out one of the ‘Risk’ and ‘Opportunity’ for logistics industry is the ‘Supply Chain Security’, beside the terrorism, cooperate governance, and organized crime concerns are pushing the topic to become any key issue at present and in future.  He also suggested that in order to face the 21st century business challenge, the logistics providers are required to implement and comply with different new supply chain security regulations and standards, e.g. Technology Asset Protection Association (TAPA), Container Security Initiative (CSI), Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), International Maritime Organization (IMO), International Ships and Port Facilities Security (ISPS code), and EU Anti-Terrorist Standards etc.
